The Opportunity

Our Communications and Public Affairs department is recruiting for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join their team on a term assignment. Reporting to the Supervisor of Marketing, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the development and coordination of all elements of electronic and written marketing and communication, both internal and external, for the City of St. Albert.

The core responsibilities of the position include:
Develop and execute marketing-communications strategies and plans.
Plan, write, develop, implement, and evaluate marketing tactics.
Collaborate with the Digital Media Coordinator, Graphic Designers, and Multimedia Coordinators to develop, maintain, and distribute marketing-communications materials and content for social media channels and campaigns/projects.
Promote and distribute information about City programs, services, amenities, events, and initiatives.
Review analytics to determine the best marketing-communications channels/tactics to reach the audience.
Identify video and photo opportunities to support marketing and communication initiatives.

The individual we are looking for has strong organizational and interpersonal skills, can work at a fast pace with high volumes of work and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. This position will draw on a candidate’s ability to multi-task, shift gears quickly when needed, meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications

A two (2) year Diploma in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations combined with a minimum two (2) years of experience in communications or marketing.
Membership to one (1) of the following: CPRS, IABC, Advertising Club of Edmonton, or similar is considered an asset.
Knowledge of CP Style, as well as strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, website content management, desktop publishing, and video editing softwares.
Strong experience creating, writing, and posting messages on social media.
Knowledge of HTML, content management for websites and mobile applications, and awareness of emerging trends in electronic communication.
Experience with data analysis and ability to generate relevant analytical information
Hours of Work

We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off every two weeks).

FULL-TIME REMOTE WORK
This position is designated for full-time remote work. Candidates must live in Alberta and complete a remote work agreement to meet policy requirements. Candidates are required to live within a reasonably commutable distance to attend meetings/events at a City facility from time to time.

Compensation

$66,540 - $81,8+4 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
