Gateway Containers is a family run business, proudly owned and operated in Queensland.
Gateway Container Park provides storage facilities for over 4000 containers, with new twin lift container handling forklifts; container wash bay facilities; pre-trip testing for refrigerated containers; and efficient workshop facilities. Gateway's clients are guaranteed professional service and a unique capacity to cater for specific needs.
Operating as one of Brisbane's empty container parks (ECP), located near the Port of Brisbane, Gateway Containers provide friendly and supportive services to a select group of shipping lines, such as: MOL, CMA CGM, PIL and Maersk just to name a few.
They require a Mechanical Engineering Technician in Hemmant, QLD, responsible for the repair, modification and maintenance of shipping containers and associated equipment.
Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting with mechanical design and maintenance tasks;
Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns;
Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records;
Installing and performing diagnostic tests on shipping containers;
Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations;
Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing relevant supplies, such as refrigeration units, door locking mechanisms, twist locks, etc;
Optimizing overall mechanical efficiency of our depot;
Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment;
Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs, modifications and maintenance.
To be considered you will need:
An appropriate tertiary qualifications such as an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma and at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification employment experience with particular reference to the shipping container engineering industry, OR;
At least 5 years of relevant employment experience with particular reference to shipping container engineering industry.
This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A competitive remuneration package is available to the successful candidate.
