This job post is for a well regarded, public limited (listed) FMCG company operating in India for over 4 decades and part of a European group with India revenue of approx +00cr INR, of which the branded packaged products is 300cr INR.
Job Purpose
Formulation and Implementation of All India Sales strategy and distribution plans for the firms Branded products division, thereby delivering the business objectives.
Role Description
National Head of Sales position reporting to the Business Head and based in Gurgaon. Will lead a team of 60 people on company rolls comprising of Zonal Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers and Sales Officers spread across the country. Further, the sales team includes in addition, a team of over 200 people off-rolls. This is a PAN India responsibility for a large category with established brands. The key responsibilities will include achieving primary and secondary sales and distribution targets, expanding distribution, leading and managing the sales team, building and sustaining a network of channel partners, ensuring collections and managing debtors as per norms, implementing sales systems, forecasting of sales, planning and execution of Trade spends, mapping competition and overseeing pan India operations related to stocks, claims, manpower and operations. Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in any field along with an MBA from a reputed college.
• 15-20 years of experience in sales with substantial experience (10-12 years) in managing General Retail in FMCG or Telecom or OTC sectors.
• Proven track record in business development, sales target achievement, and team management.
• Ability to think strategically, analyze market trends, and design and implement effective sales strategies in line with organizational objectives.
• Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve organizational goals with excellent customer service.
• Exposure to and preferably experience in dealing with different regions of India.
