About the role
As the Officer, HDR Strategy and Policy Support, you will be responsible for providing support in quality assurance, policy, and partnerships to help the School of Graduate Research achieve its objectives.
Liaising with professional and academic staff across the university, you will contribute to and support specialist processes and related activities that ensure compliance and enhance the quality of RMIT’s Higher Degree by Research programs. Examples of this work include: supporting the growth of global and industry partnerships, supporting annual program reviews and the Graduate Research Committee; documenting opportunities and monitoring progress towards improving the quality of HDR programs and supervision; and coordinating updates to the HDR policy suite.
This position would suit someone ideally with a background in higher education with a high level of attention to detail. If you are passionate about continuous improvement, and keen to further develop your skills and experience in the policy space, we would love to hear from you!
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Relevant professional experience within the University sector and/or a large, complex organisation
Highly developed organisational and time management skills, and the ability to assess priorities, exercise discretionary judgment, and work through multiple tasks simultaneously and under pressure
Excellent communication skills including a strong capability in producing high-quality documentation, such as reports, web content, and data sets, to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders
Demonstrated strengths in building relationships and negotiating, with the ability to work effectively across multiple levels and functions, and with external parties
Strong focus on customer service and attention to detail
Experience and demonstrated aptitude in working using an agile mindset in a fast-changing and dynamic team, including working through ambiguity

SGR facilitates collaboration with industry and international partners allowing candidates to gain valuable experience and skills by helping the private and public sector solve today’s problems and capture opportunities
