Job description
Operations Manager - Commercial P&C Insurance
As a key leader in our organization, you will be responsible for driving the success of our brokerage services within a designated geographic region. This involves supporting ongoing sales efforts and achieving organizational goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as all federal, state, and local laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with operations to motivate, reward, and retain employees through effective recruiting practices, timely performance reviews, and utilization of performance management tools.
Develop and implement consistent organization-wide policies, workflows, and procedures, including measurement tools that emphasize workload re-balancing and best practices.
Evaluate performance goals and objectives to achieve optimum results, working closely with operations to assess progress.
Participate in planning, budgeting, and financial reporting, including profit and loss statements, compensation ratios, labor ratios, margin maintenance, revenue reports, and business analytics.
Foster the use of technology and training to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure compliance with employment law and maintain consistent organizational practices.
Monitor annual customer retention rates for respective groups on a client count and revenue basis.
Partner with Corporate Services business units to facilitate efficient business operations.
Support general accounting responsibilities as needed.
Maintain data integrity by entering and maintaining complete and accurate information in agency management systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ten (10) or more years related work experience.
Valid insurance license.
Ability to meet Continuing Education Unit (CEU) requirements for license renewal.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good problem-solving and time management skills.
Able to work within a team and foster teamwork.
Strong leadership and staff development skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
