What’s the job?
The Organisational Development and Workforce Specialist plays a crucial role in implementing the New University Strategic Workforce Plan. This marks an exciting new chapter for Torrens University Australia, as we focus on growth, personalisation, and quality. Over the next six months, we aim to refresh our workforce plan to prepare for future success, considering evolving workforce dynamics and needs.
This role will primarily support workforce planning activities related to our academic teaching and research plans. The specialist will act as a key liaison, working with stakeholders from finance, data, and senior leadership. They will review and interpret data to identify risks and recommend workforce strategies for attraction, development, and retention. Additionally, this person will support general organisational development activities, including job design, organisational structure, change management, and employee engagement. They will also play a vital role in upskilling and supporting the HR Business Partner function, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and best practices.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract with a location preference is Sydney or Adelaide; however, for the right candidate, we are open to any of our other campuses – Melbourne, or Brisbane.
Accountabilities:
Develop and implement strategic workforce planning frameworks, including interpretation and analysis of workforce analytics, capability assessments, succession planning, and scenario modelling. Provide insights to inform talent strategies and business planning. Lead or participate in workforce planning summits and conversations.
Prepare and deliver workforce planning reports, work with Senior leaders and HRBPs to interpret HR, finance and business data to identify workforce trends, gaps, and opportunities for intervention. Provide recommendations that support long-term business objectives.
Support organisational design efforts, including structural analysis, role clarity, and job design enhancements to ensure efficient and effective teams and organisations
Design and implement job design/architecture frameworks, ensuring job roles align with business strategy and career progression pathways.
Develop and execute change management strategies and plans, equipping business leaders with frameworks and tools to manage change effectively across the organisation.
Ideal candidate needs to be highly detailed, confident in their writing skills, and reports, superior in interpreting data and able to manage and lead complex discussions to form decisions.
Criteria:
Tertiary qualification in HR, OD, Business, Education or similar (or equivalent experience)
5 years or more experience in Organisational Development/workforce planning
Experience autonomously coordinating and rolling out projects, including change management
Experience in the analysis of complex organisation data and application of data to make data informed HR decisions
Strong general coordination/administration experience and project management skills
Experience working with performance management systems
