As an Accountant on the PA Financial Services team, you will be responsible for functions such as TAP/WRAP processes, PA cash and revenue management, and AR/Trucking reporting and analysis while interacting with various groups within the Finance Department. In your role, there will be opportunities to further develop your accounting skills as it relates to the PA financial accounting and reporting cycle, including participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:

Manage and record monthly incoming PA cash receipts and revenue from Marketing and Treasury to ensure timely and accurate allocation/clearing to properties
Facilitate monthly PA Trucking Automation Process (TAP), ensure timely and accurate running of TAP, and preparation and analysis of monthly reports for PA teams and management
Monitor TAP cost allocation efficiencies and accuracies and anticipate and independently resolve any issues
Facilitate monthly WRAP process, ensure timely and accurate uploading and clearing of netback prices and revenue from Marketing Accounting to PAS, and monitor efficiencies, anticipate and independently resolve any issues
Proactively perform responsibilities relating to PA AR account resolution, with timely follow up and clearing of outstanding balances, as well as monthly AR report preparation and analysis
Build and maintain effective working relationships with various Finance groups including Property Accounting, PA Services, JV Accounting, Treasury, Marketing Accounting, and IS developers
Contribute and support the PA Financial Services team with other accounting tasks as needed and add value by participating and making recommendations in continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring to the Role:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, with experience in Canadian Natural financial applications (e.g., E1, D2, FDAP) and 1-2 years of property accounting experience considered assets
Strong understanding of accounting cycles and deadlines
Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a high level of motivation to complete tasks accurately and on time
Accountable and reliable in fulfilling commitments to peers, co-workers, and supervisors
Excellent communication skills with active listening and the ability to ask clarifying questions
Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively both as a team player and independently
Proactive and independent problem solver, takes ownership of tasks and issues
Adaptable to change, with a capacity to apply and transfer skills to new situations and processes
