Job description
Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with a passion for perinatal mental health? Are you looking for a rewarding role, allowing you to utilise your skills to make a real difference to women experiencing mental health difficulties during the perinatal period in the beautiful county of Oxfordshire.
Successful candidate will work with some of our complex perinatal mental health cases, and have an interest in children's safeguarding. Your role will involve supporting the team manager and supervising members of the team.
As part of this role you will be expected to join the duty manager roster on a rotational basis covering out of hours and weekends for the trusts hospital wards and community mental health services.
The Successful Candidate Will Need To
• Have a positive attitude and passion for perinatal mental health services.
• Have an understanding of perinatal mental health and its impact on service users.
• Be proactive, flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of our diverse service and the changing demands associated with community perinatal mental health service.
• Be committed to delivering high quality care.
• Be familiar with current legislation, guidelines and processes that may affect the way in which mental health care is delivered.
• Be prepared and able to travel across the county of Oxfordshire.
• Be able to use professional skills to support and motivate colleagues and service users.
• Liaise with health and social care colleagues including midwives, health visitors, and children's social workers.
• To have keen interest in Children's safeguarding, although not essential as training can be given.
Excellent communication, organisational and liaison skills are essential to ensure that the links and relationships already developed by the team are maintained to deliver a high quality and responsive perinatal mental health service.
All applicants must have excellent clinical skills and a good level of post registration experience, proven ability to complete comprehensive mental state examinations, thoroughly assess risk, and document and communicate these clearly and concisely.
