Provides friendly and efficient customer service to Petco patrons, determining their particular necessities and recommending pertinent items, while utilizing effective suggestive selling techniques to elevate overall sales
Success in this position requires extensive knowledge of the principles of nutrition, proficiency in Pals Rewards sign-up procedures, familiarity with the Welcome to the Family program, and the ability to implement persuasive selling techniques to boost sales
Ensures exceptional customer service for all customer-based approaches, such as Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery
Executes all aspects of sales transactions including receiving payments in cash, credit, or checks, as well as processing returns and exchanges
Contributes to the upkeep of the merchandise display through stocking and facing efforts
Completes transactions using the cash register and facilitates guest carry-out service, which may include merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds per trip
Complies with the loss prevention measures mandated by the organization
Contributes to the effective functioning of the store by participating in the loading, unloading and stocking of merchandise in accordance with established guidelines
Makes sure that the animals, birds, reptiles, and fish in the store receive excellent care, and their habitats are clean, safe, and secured
Additionally, their health is regularly monitored and maintained
In case of any animal, reptile, bird or fish that needs medical attention or special care, store leaders are immediately notified
Consistently upholds the store's professional appearance by carrying out routine housekeeping duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, dusting shelves, washing windows, arranging merchandise displays, and taking care of restroom upkeep
Provides assistance to store managers in the precise and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork during store opening and closing times
Assists in the completion of quarterly and annual physical inventory examinations
Creates a culture of safety and prioritizes the well-being of all stakeholders through the meticulous implementation of safety policies and regular cleaning and maintenance efforts
Performs specialized assignments as assigned
