Physiotherapy Assistant and Medical Office Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting physiotherapists in delivering high-quality patient care. This position is essential in helping patients recover from injuries, manage pain, and improve their overall physical function. The Physiotherapy Assistant will work primarily in a clinic setting, providing assistance to patients during their rehabilitation journey. The candidate will also perform the tasks of a medical office assistant.

Duties

Assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans for patients under their care.
Help patients with exercises and therapeutic activities, ensuring proper techniques are followed.
Prepare treatment areas and equipment before sessions, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physiotherapist.
Educate patients on exercises and self-care strategies to promote recovery outside of therapy sessions.
Document patient interactions and progress accurately in medical records.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Perform all patients’ booking, billing, scheduling, answering and performing phone calls.
Document related activities such as documentation as directed by the Physiotherapist (or clinic staff).
Contacting insurance companies for patients’ benefits claims.
Cleaning rooms and making inventory available on time. 5) Ensuring privacy and confidentiality of patients’ and their documents at all times.
Experience

Physiotherapy Assistant Certification-mandatory.
Previous experience in clinic settings is mandatory.
Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous for effective communication within the healthcare team.
A background in patient care, particularly in rehabilitation or physical therapy environments, is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff members.
