We are seeking two experienced support assistants to work with a young boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the Aberdare area.
About the Individual:
The individual is a 12-year-old boy who has a cheeky personality and can sometimes be mischievous. He is non-verbal but has ways of communicating and is very loving towards his family. He recently expressed a desire to engage more, however, he prefers quiet environments and often wears ear defenders due to sound sensitivity.
Key Requirements:
Two-person support team (2:1) to facilitate social opportunities in the community
Assist with personal care and toileting needs
Accompany on social outings and community activities
Ensure safety at all times
Car driver with access to a vehicle
Essential Skills and Qualities:
Experience working with individuals with ASD
Reliability, caring, and friendly demeanor
Understanding of sound sensitivity
Respect for confidentiality and home-based work environment
Job Details:
Part-time position (3 hours/week)
After-school hours in term time and during school holidays
Weekend shifts may be required occasionally
Compensation and Benefits:
£13.00 per hour
40p mileage reimbursement
Monthly wage payments and holiday pay
Employment Requirements:
National Insurance number submission
Trial period prior to employment commencement
DBS check (cost met by Local Authority)
Right-to-work checks
