Salary: $24.00 - $25.00/hour

We are currently accepting applications for an immediate opening for a Project Accountant to be based at our Hermon, Maine office. The Hermon office supports our S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. and Seaboard Drilling, LLC teams across New England. We are an established employee-owned firm with a history of over 45 years of success and stable growth serving clients throughout the northeast. Someone in this role will have the opportunity to work directly with other professionals within our finance and accounting team.

This position is full-time and hours are generally Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. This is an office-based position initially with potential to be a hybrid position with 1 to 2 days per week remote after 6 months.

The Project Accountant will manage project cost accounting and work with project managers to prepare client invoices. They will also work under the CFO's direction to assist with other accounting and reporting tasks. Other tasks include:
• Manage the project accounting cycle including Project-related accounts payable
• Establishing contract structures, values and fees within the ERP
• Working with project managers during billing review
• Preparing and transmitting project invoices
• Administering contract lien waivers and similar documentation
• Review project contracts and agreements to understand financial terms and obligations
• Maintain contract documentation
• Ensure invoicing according to contract requirements

A background or familiarity with construction and/or engineering is helpful, but you will learn from our Team along the way if our industry is new to you. You will often use MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and our ERP system, Unanet, so familiarity with these programs is preferred.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business management or accounting required.
