About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations related to our design and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a specific focus on the real estate or construction industry. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Job Type: Part-time, non-exempt
Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00 am-2:00 pm EST (roughly)
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for design and construction projects.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
Budget Management:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets.
Track and report on project expenditures and variances.
Work closely with project managers to ensure budget adherence.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage accounts payable and receivable for design and construction projects.
Process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Prepare and file necessary tax documents and reports.
Audit and Compliance:
Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
General Accounting Duties:
Maintain and update accounting records and files.
Perform general bookkeeping tasks.
Provide support for special accounting projects as required.
