Project Environmental Scientist (Contaminated Sites)
The Opportunity
Aurora Environmental (Perth) Pty Ltd & Others is searching for ambitious problem solvers to join our well established and growing contaminated sites team based at our office in Perth.
Our Environmental Scientists have positive, can-do attitudes and get the opportunity to work on issues they feel passionately about and provide solutions to clients. Working with Aurora, you will gain access to the hands-on, practical management of our projects, including:
fieldwork at metropolitan and/or regional locations for site investigation and remediation;
collection and recording of site environmental data, including soil, water and air samples for laboratory analysis;
management and interpretation of analytical data to evaluate trends and assess human health and ecological risk; and
assisting with the preparation of technical reports and proposals.
You will be well mentored by our senior staff who pride themselves on sharing knowledge and developing the technical and professional consulting skills of those around them.

Established in 2011, Aurora Environmental is a Western Australian owned and operated consultancy specialising in a range of environmental services including; contaminated sites investigation, remediation and auditing, environmental impact assessment, waste management, environmental approvals, licensing and management, occupational hygiene, hazardous materials and radiation assessment and management.
Aurora’s closely knit contaminated sites team has worked on some of WA’s most high profile, interesting and complex projects, across the infrastructure, mining, heavy industry and urban development sectors, including the construction of Perth Optus Stadium and individual METRONET projects, redevelopment of Princess Margaret Hospital, design and management of a Class 5 intractable waste facility and the assessment and remediation of several remote Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley region. About you
You will bring:
A tertiary qualification in natural science discipline, such as environmental science, environmental chemistry, environmental engineering, soil science, geology or hydrogeology.
5-10 years of related professional experience in contaminated land investigations and remediation.
Effective working knowledge of Western Australia’s contaminated sites regulatory framework, the National Environmental Protection (Assessment of Site Contamination) Measure and other relevant guidelines.
Be able to work safely and keep others safe.
Excellent analytical and written communication skills with experience in preparing high quality technical reports and proposals.
Be curious, have a desire to be challenged, learn new things and continuously improve.
Have a willingness to undertake remote field work as required.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Have a strong work ethic and commercial acumen.
Hold a current driver’s licence.
Have full working rights within Australia.
