VIQ Solutions is a principal in the transcription industry with a longstanding history of providing recording and transcription services globally and throughout Australia. The VIQ Solutions team is seeking independent proofreaders who are passionate about leveraging cutting edge technology as a tool to increase their production and pay potential. Our contractors are a community of talented editors who are interested in getting a behind-the-scenes look at the way law enforcement and legal systems work. Our work lets you show off your proofreading skills, helps grow your experience, and gives you the flexibility of setting your own schedule. While some of our court clients have work available during more standard business hours, we have plenty of work available in the evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
High-quality documents and timeliness are of the utmost importance to our clients. Imagine someone you knew had a legal or a law enforcement issue – you’d want any conversations, notes, reports, legal proceedings, etc. to be precisely edited as possible! With this contracting position, you can help ensure true and correct documents to assist people in difficult times.
In your role as a VIQ proofreader, you will be responsible for reviewing content to ensure a high level of accuracy before client delivery. Each day you will encounter new and diverse content that will broaden your experience.
What you will offer
First-class proofreading and editing skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Above average typing speed (50 wpm or more)
Able to work autonomously
Self-learning attributes
Excellent attention to detail
Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling and grammar
Able to consistently follow formatting and/or style guidelines
Reliable and punctual
Able to maintain accuracy while working to deadlines
Experience of proofreading and/or editing legal content, including court hearings (audio transcription), will be well regarded but is not essential.
You will require
National Police Clearance
Must be located within Australia
ABN
An ACN, or willingness to obtain an ACN is highly desirable
Equipment Minimum Requirements (at own expense)
Microsoft 365 Business Basic licence or Microsoft 365 Personal License
VEC Infinity foot pedal USB 3
Headset for listening to audio
Base internet speed (25 mbps or above)
Windows 10 Operating System (or above)
