About the Role:
We are looking for a Quality Control Technician (QC Tech) to work on our morning shift (6.00am to 2.30pm) who is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all quality control procedures and documents and will ensure all work performed adheres to all organizational standards as well as safety regulations and guidelines. The QC Tech will watch over the manufacturing of finished products by performing various types of quality checks throughout the day.
**Please note that this position involves walking throughout the day
and is not a laboratory position**
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all practices are conducted in a food safe manner and any food safety issues are brought to Quality Assurance or Senior Management
Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all production records
Responsible for setup, verification, calibration, and adjustment of CCPs prior to line start and throughout the shift
Monitoring traceability of ingredients, quality of finished product, and verification of packaging
Conducting verification checks at various stations on the production line and completing record sign-off
Performing periodic inspections of the facility and reporting findings
Other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.
About You:
Food Science and/or Food Technology graduate or the equivalent combination of education and experience in the food industry.
Knowledge of methods and procedures for food manufacturing, quality, production, sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude, with an ability to work as a team
Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve quality goals. Coordinating production teams and other departments to maintain quality standards
Commitment to accuracy and detail oriented
Ability to analyze data, identify root causes of quality issues, and recommend improvements
Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills; speaking and writing English fluently. Maintaining communication with suppliers, contractors, and relevant staff to ensure quality requirements are met
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Ability to perform repetitive tasks, superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
This position involves detailed, technical writing, proofreading, procedure-auditing, and extensive recordkeeping
SQF, GMP, HACCP training and knowledge are considered assets
