The Job: We are hiring a full-time and permanent Litigation Law Clerk to assist two lawyers, Anthony Lungu and Mariel Gerges, to assist in their litigation-oriented practice group.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 2 years working as Legal Assistant or Law Clerk
Strong grasp of Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Small Claims Court, as well Ontario Court Practice Directions
Experience booking and preparing materials for mediations, examinations, case conferences, and motions
Professional demeanor, accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work independently, to prioritize assignments, and work collaboratively
Strong grasp of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Preferred, but not required: relevant degree or diploma from accredited Ontario institutions; experience in employment law, civil litigation, or similar; desire to learn and advance in the legal profession
Job Responsibilities:

Perform work assignments for two lawyers at all stages of the client lifecycle, including onboarding and closing, but predominately focused on litigation
Booking and preparing materials for mediations, examinations, case conferences, and motions etc.
Maintaining establishing filing systems
Open files, preparing retainer agreements, and prepare invoices
Direct communications by email and telephone with clients, lawyers, and third-parties
Other clerical/administrative assistance may be required
