Overview
Effective 1 July 2025, the new cross-industry Prudential Standard CPS 230 – Operational Risk Management comes into force, setting minimum standards for managing operational risk, business continuity, and service provider oversight. To support this, MUFG is creating a new role within the Retirement Solutions business to help design, implement, and test an uplifted controls framework, ensuring alignment with CPS 230 requirements.
Hybrid/flexible working conditions- 50% in the office per fortnight

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Risk Focus:
Support the implementation of CPS 230, working across business units to assess risks and design effective controls.
Maintain and update Risk and Control Matrices (RACMs), ensuring alignment with CPS 230 and GRC systems.
Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to drive operational readiness and test control effectiveness.
Contribute to the uplift of the Control Self-Assessment (CSA) program and related reporting.
Operational Resilience:
Assist with the delivery of the three-phase Controls Uplift Initiative – analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
Lead control mapping, assurance activities, and CSA testing development.
Identify and help address control gaps, process improvements, and resilience risks.
Governance & Compliance:
Engage with Line 1 and Line 2 Risk teams to ensure strong risk governance and regulatory compliance.
Support a proactive risk culture and meet all CPS 230-related assurance obligations.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements, including privacy and operational risk frameworks.
Experience & Attributes
2+ years of experience in a risk and controls, assurance, or operational resilience role.
Hands-on experience with control design, implementation, and effectiveness testing.
Strong collaboration, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a problem-solving mindset.
Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and complex environments.
