Main Purpose:
• Establish Contract Farming in the State of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan & Haryana towards self sufficiency of Kosi (UP) plant.
• Influence the target farmers (who predominantly grow table varieties) to adopt our FL portfolio (FC varieties) and participate in our CF program
• Ensuring the right quantity & quality at cost effective procurement of Potato in increasingly competing conditions.
• Ensuring implementation of PepsiCo Package of Practices (POP) for advantaged varieties to ensure targeted CF volumes
• Manage the uncertainty of weather and hence manage the vulnerabilities of potato supply chain towards smooth plant operations at Kosi.
• Able to interpret the drivers of market volatility (demand & supply) and farmer sentiments to fairly estimate the procurement cost.
• Develop modern & traditional storage system (Bulk Cold Store & Semi Modern CS) to ensure quality of potatoes as per prescribed SOP.
• Efficiently handling & store dispatches as per requirements of the Plant
• Driving adoption of modern agriculture technologies including field mechanization/ Drip towards better & sustainable farming
Key Accountabilities:

Chip Grade Potato Supply:

To lead, manage & direct the Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan & Haryana Agro Team as Business Entrepreneur so as to ensure sustainable growth of contract farming & market purchase of agro raw material for the production unit at the most profitable & sustainable approach from market
• To efficiently prepare the Annual Operating Plan for the Region and forecast the seasonal availability of raw material for the plant.
• To develop & implement an effective strategy to meet the targets of revenue & profitability by optimal utilization of resources.
• To develop & implement an effective marketing strategy to meet the targets of seed sale & increase market penetration in a profitable way in new geographies to secure supply lines.
• To increase procurement from own farming program by identifying new geography and potential in the region.
• To forecast and deliver quantity and quality of supply as per the Annual Operating Plan.
• Lead the relationship building with local government officials & administrative officers drawing strategic alliance for business & CF sustenance in state of UP , RJ & HR
To understand the agro commodity market and price relation to forecast seasonal pricing cycle and ensure NCF purchase
• Understand and predict agricultural commodity price movement and impact on potato supply & demand
• Understand macro & micro agricultural commercial scenario and generate business strategy to attain short term strategy for the organization
Develop and strengthen the Rural Supply Channel and draw effective support for +2500 strong farmer members of the Agro Business.
• Develop strategy to ensure long lasting farmer relationship and identify new business channels / suppliers
• Draw effective policy roadmap to sustain contract farming and increase support to growers through third party participation in program – Banks / Insurance / Chemical suppliers / irrigation equipment’s etc.
• To develop & maintain strong customer relations with all key stakeholders pertaining to the region including rural agricultural cooperatives, agri-input dealers, vendors, farmers & Government officials so as to strengthen relations & the brand equity of the company in the market.
To ensure best storage practices and develop logistics support for the plant operation. Develop strong Agro interface with Production & Quality Teams in Kosi Plant .
• Collaborate with plant team to understand the raw material supply schedule and meet the supply matrix and quality parameters
• Ensure storage of potatoes to sustain PC production as per production schedule and maintain potato quality
• Manage storage program to deliver least storage loss / cost as per PepsiCo International Potato storage protocol
• Develop & mange Store Vendors / negotiate best deals.
• Lead the Storage Modernization Agenda in the region.
Risk Management, Manage Receivables, and Ensure Legal & Contractual Obligations for the Business
• Ensure Legal Compliance in the market place
People :

Organization Building :
• Lead the People process of Objective setting, MYR, PDR, Manager Connect, OHS for the team
• Build self, team and partner farmers all the critical areas of CF development
• Drive business linked reward and recognition to motivate team to deliver/exceed AOP
• Lead the Safety Agenda in the region.
