Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, the Principal is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operations of the secondary school. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and the community to provide an exceptional educational experience, ensure student success, and foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment. The Principal will demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovative practices that enhance the quality of education.
Key Responsibilities:
Projecting a clear sense of direction consistent with District
Provide strong and visionary leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school programs, policies, and practices.
Foster a positive school culture focused on student learning, well-being, and achievement.
Lead the school in creating and implementing an effective and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
Promote professional growth and development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and support for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with parents, school staff, and the community to build partnerships that support student success and enhance the learning environment.
Ensure the school is compliant with all relevant policies, regulations, and legislation.
Oversee the day-to-day management of school operations, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.
Support and encourage student involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership opportunities, and community engagement.

Ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the community to achieve shared educational goals.
Proven track record of successfully leading a school or educational program, with a focus on student achievement and wellbeing.
Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills, with the capacity to manage complex educational environments.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
Instructional Leadership:
In-depth understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and teaching strategies that support student success.
The ability to lead professional development for staff that fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Expertise in creating inclusive learning environments that meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
Student-Centered Focus:
A deep commitment to the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students.
An ability to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive school culture where students feel valued and motivated to succeed.
Experience with strategies for supporting at-risk students and promoting equity in education.
Operational and Organizational Management:
Proven experience in managing budgets, resources, staffing, and facilities.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Ability to make data-informed decisions that support school improvement and student success.

Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and promotes equitable opportunities for all students.
Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within diverse student populations and the ability to address them effectively.

Requirements:
Valid British Columbia teaching certificate.
Master's degree in educational leadership, Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of five years' exemplary teaching experience
Proven experience in leading educational change and school improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of the British Columbia curriculum and educational policies.
Starting Salary: $142,334
