Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for certain month-end, quarter end and year-end reconciliation and closing processes, ensuring transactions are adequately supported and accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP
This position will also support the external audit, perform income statement analytics and perform special projects as needed
 Prepare detailed reconciliations of certain balance sheet accounts
 Prepare accounting-related journal entries to assigned areas of work
 Analyze accounting problems and arrive at workable solutions
Evaluate information, identify key issues that need to be addressed and develop courses of action that effectively address the issue at hand
 Manage assigned projects by prioritizing work to meet established deadlines, ensuring that accounting objectives are accomplished and keeping leadership informed of project status and issues
 Preparation of supporting data for external auditors
 Maintain a strong internal control environment
 Work effectively and alongside third-party service providers (consultants, auditors)
 Work collaboratively with other Corporate functions (Development, Operations, Finance)
 Implement and develop solutions to drive accounting efficiencies
 Support other accounting related projects and functions as assigned
 Adhere to Company policies and procedures

Overview:

Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance; Master’s degree and CPA is a plus

 2+ years of full-time experience in accounting

 Understanding of GAAP

 Fixed asset accounting experience a plus

 Lease accounting experience a plus

 Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments

 Experience within the retail, restaurant, or similar industry that includes multiple locations in various states

 Experience with and understanding of SEC rules a plus

 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

 Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Blackline a plus
