Description

Our purpose
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation has advanced the interests of teachers and advocated for excellence in public education for more than +0 years. We are a professional organization representing over 13,500 teachers employed in PreK-12 schools across the province who are trusted and respected leaders and partners in education.

What we do
Working with the Federation is more than a job. It’s about contributing, through your professional background, to quality public education. It’s about providing exceptional programs and services that support Saskatchewan teachers and their profession.

What we value
We work as a team, recognizing that we all play a part, directly or indirectly, in realizing our purpose. We are committed to a workplace that engages its diverse workforce and offers a stimulating environment where individuals are provided with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. We are inclusive and celebrate diversity by supporting an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best.

What you will do
Senior administrative staff members carry out the mandate of the organization as specified in The Teachers’ Federation Act, 2006. They provide advice, assistance and support to members, school staffs and local associations; represent the teaching profession in many fora; and participate in policy and program development. Additionally, senior administrative staff participate in local and provincial collective bargaining, ensuring that teachers’ rights are reflected through fair working conditions, professional respect, and equitable compensation. Senior administrative staff have a holistic view of the profession, reflective of diverse experiences and perspectives, that will enable the candidate to work in any program area. Demonstrated exploration and understanding of current political and educational issues provincially, nationally and internationally is essential for this work. These are highly responsible and challenging positions within the Federation and the education community and as such, will require regular travel within the province and some evening and weekend work.

Where you will work
Senior administrative staff work from the STF office in Saskatoon. Staff are in office full time except when supporting teachers or attending meetings in other locations.
