The Office for People is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operation implementation of human resource strategies relating to the attraction, retention, development, and management of academic and professional staff in the University.
About the Opportunity
Western Sydney University is transforming its Talent Acquisition function into a proactive, data-driven, and strategic headhunting model. As a Senior Talent Acquisition Advisor, you will lead critical professional and academic recruitment efforts, drive innovative sourcing approaches, consult with hiring managers to refine role requirements, and champion best practices that place the candidate experience at the forefront. You will be responsible for embedding and maintaining best-practice use of our new ATS (SmartRecruiters), supporting the broader shift to a data-informed, proactive recruitment model.
This is a Full Time, Ongoing position based at the Hawkesbury Campus, although travel to the Parramatta South or other campuses of the University will be required.

About You
You are an experienced Talent Acquisition professional who approaches recruitment as a structured and strategic discipline. You actively consult with stakeholders, clarify requirements through purposeful intake meetings, and translate these into targeted sourcing plans.
Strategic Orientation: You create practical Talent Acquisition strategies grounded in research and market data. You translate hiring needs into well-defined sourcing actions and measurable outcomes.
Adaptive Thinking: Your experience spans multiple job categories, and you demonstrate capability in rapidly assimilating new role requirements. You apply rigorous logic and problem-solving skills to Talent Acquisition challenges.
Data Competence: You regularly use Talent Acquisition metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, conversion rates, sourcing effectiveness) to objectively evaluate performance. Your recommendations to stakeholders are consistently supported by clear data.
AI Literacy & Ethical Practice: You are familiar with the use of AI in Talent Acquisition and understand both its potential and limitations. You apply AI tools responsibly to support sourcing, candidate screening, and workflow automation—while maintaining a clear focus on equity, compliance, and data integrity.
Stakeholder Management: You maintain productive relationships by providing clear advice, realistic timelines, and evidence-based candidate assessments. Your communication style is straightforward, outcome-oriented, and credible.
Process Discipline: You remain comfortable transitioning from legacy recruitment systems and manual tracking methods to modern, fully digital Talent Acquisition platforms. You actively contribute to process improvements, documentation, and the training of team members.
