Full job description
About the Role

Join our high-performing Wholesale Banking & Financial Markets team where your attention to detail and commitment to exceptional service and delivery will make a real impact. In this role, you’ll work closely with an Associate Director or Director to support the delivery of tailored financial solutions for a portfolio of strong, creditworthy clients—with large complex commercial lending size deals, typically ranging from $50-150m.

You’ll be responsible for preparing complex credit submissions, managing periodic reviews, and ensuring seamless coordination with external service providers to facilitate accurate and timely settlements. Your ability to build strong relationships and deliver outstanding service will be key to driving new business and maintaining client satisfaction.

This is a dynamic opportunity for someone with previous experience in commercial or corporate banking, ideally with exposure to syndicated or club-style transactions across diverse industries. You’ll bring a proven track record in client origination and relationship management, along with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the Australian business banking landscape.

Typical originating transaction types for this portfolio include participation in Syndicated facilities for a diverse range of industries and exposure to a substantial number of funds as administered by large Institutional Fund Managers.

About you

You’re an experienced banking professional with previous experience in commercial and corporate transactions at leading financial institutions. Your background includes working on syndicated and club-style deals across industries such as property, diversified sectors, and healthcare. You’ve built a strong reputation for originating new client relationships and nurturing existing ones, backed by your ability to negotiate and influence with confidence. Your communication skills are clear and effective, and you have a solid grasp of business banking in Australia. Driven by initiative and a can-do attitude, you thrive in diverse environments and enjoy collaborating with others to achieve successful outcomes.

Additionally, your focus on relationship management will extend across the broader loan market, including underwriters, bookrunners, participant banks, and referral partners, helping to strengthen connections and support cross-referrals to product teams. In managing risk, you’ll ensure lending transactions are structured in line with BOQ’s credit policies and maintain robust compliance and portfolio health practices.

Throughout your work, you’ll embody BOQ’s values—Spirited, Optimistic, Curious, Inclusive, Accountable, and Lionhearted—while upholding the Code of Conduct and contributing to the Group’s purpose of building social capital through banking.
