Job Profile Summary
Overview:
Evaluate and determine the credit risks of larger dollar amount commercial clients through detailed financial statement analysis, collateral valuation, cash flow analysis and the ability to repay annual debt service.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review all larger and/or complex pertinent credit and financial information
Spread & analyze financial statements and related materials.
Assign an overall risk rating to the credit request.
Assist in monitoring credit policy compliance by verifying adherence to the Commercial Credit Policy, and commenting on any risk associated with non-compliance.
Develop credit analyses for use by lending officers in the making of lending decisions on new credit approvals and renewals.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The incumbent works under general supervision.
Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:
None
Education and Experience Required:
College degree and 2 to 3 years related work experience. In lieu of college degree 3 plus years of related work experience.
Working knowledge of personal computers and related software programs.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical ability.
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $2+.27 - $48.7+ Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
