Primary objective
Provide comprehensive and confidential high level executive administrative support services, business operations support and project
assistance to the General Manager and the Infrastructure NT Executive team to assist in the delivery of a diverse range of secretariat and
corporate activities.
Context statement
Infrastructure NT delivers strategic infrastructure planning and development to align infrastructure needs with industry and population
growth. It manages the delivery of significant enabling infrastructure projects and incorporates project execution teams. The office
represents and champions the Territory’s interests at a national level to meet and deliver infrastructure requirements, forging strong
relationships with Australian Government agencies, including Infrastructure Australia and other jurisdictions.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level administration and executive support for the General Manager and the Infrastructure NT executive team.
2. Provide secretarial support, including managing confidential correspondence, maintaining records, and initiating follow-up actions to
meet deadlines.
3. Draft correspondence, handle filing, screen telephone calls and visitors, and coordinate scheduling of appointments and meetings.
Additionally, prepare and distribute publications and arrange travel logistics for the Executive.
4. Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidelines to establish and maintain the effective delivery of the functions
of Infrastructure NT.
5. Undertake research and projects, data collection, management and retrieval as directed by the Executive Officer, General manager
and members of Infrastructure NT’s Executive team that may require coordination across government agencies and/or with external
parties.
6. Coordinate the preparation of Infrastructure NT submissions and reports.
7. Provide governance and business support services for the General Manager and the executive team.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Highly developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate professionally with a diverse range of people such as the
Minister’s Office, internal and external clients and service providers.
2. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate
with executive staff while observing appropriate formalities and protocol in addressing and speaking.
3. Demonstrated analytical and evidence-based research skills including the ability to contribute to policy development, business cases and
business management including operational budget planning, development, analysis and reporting.
4. Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated capacity to prioritise and manage competing workloads under pressure to meet
critical deadlines, including the ability to work independent and flexibly, stay self-motivated and exercise initiative.
5. Proven capacity in providing high quality executive secretariat support services and experience in managing sensitive and confidential
information.
6. Demonstrated experience in financial, HR and procurement processes, including payment of invoices.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary processes and documentation.
2. Understanding of current infrastructure issues in the Northern Territory.
