My client, a global name, is seeking a Snr Network Engineer / Architect with strong Security & Firewall experience to join their Infrastructure team.
My client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer / Architect to join their Infrastructure and Systems team and be involved in the design, implementation, and management of robust, scalable network infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive network automation, optimise performance, and ensure network security.
This is a Full Time, Perm role with Flexible Working Arrangements. There is the option to work in the Sydney CBD office two days a week, and work from home the other three.
The Salary is up to $150,000 + Super + 5% Bonus.
You will become an integral part of the team, working across multiple platforms and environments and continuing to develop and build upon their standards, patterns, and frameworks for secure, high performing, resilient network and infrastructure. You’ll be working with a range of stakeholders and engineering peers on various projects and initiatives, ensuring quality deliveries.
Being energetic, open minded and willing to learn, paired with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in achieving success in this position.
Mandatory Requirements
Security and Firewall experience: Policy management and configuration
Network Architecture: DC topologies - design experience, Spine/Leaf architectures with underlay/overlay topologies
Routing / Switching technologies: OSPF, MP-BGP, BGP policies and route manipulation, Multicast concepts
Design and documentation: Detailed Requirements gathering, HLD / LLD preparation, and Diagramming
Hardware knowledge: Hardware selection experience e.g. BOM preparation, Knowledge of various DC hardware / cabling standards, Knowledge of different SFP formats and cabling requirements
Communication Skills: Can speak to details at a technical level
Highly Desirable Skills & Experience
Cisco ASA/FPR experience
Fortinet experience
SMPTE standards
EVPN, VxLAN
Cisco Nexus +300 experience
Advanced multicast design and troubleshooting e.g. SSM vs ASM, RPs, MSDP, IGMP, PIM, TR
Automation: Ansible Playbooks - experience writing and executing, Linux CLI/bash, Python coding
Ability to simplify complex topics to convey meaning to non-technical staff
Flexibility - may need to work out of standard business hours to work with international teams or priority projects/event
Accountable - take ownership of allocated tasks/issues and drive to resolution
