Senior Software Engineer, Fintech – Auto Finance Platform

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a core contributor to our flagship auto finance platform. Your responsibilities will include:

Design and Development: Architecting, designing, and implementing highly scalable, secure, and performant backend services and APIs using our open-source stack.
API Integration: Leading the development of complex API integrations with external financial partners, data providers, and third-party services crucial to the auto lending lifecycle.
Feature Ownership: Taking full ownership of product features from concept through deployment, collaborating closely with Product and Design teams to deliver exceptional next-generation user experiences.
Code Quality: Establishing and enforcing best practices for code quality, security, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Team Building: Play a core role in establishing and scaling a high-performance engineering team and culture.
Mentorship: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
US Citizenship: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
Domain Expertise: Minimum of 5 years working on auto finance platforms OR extensive experience developing and maintaining mission-critical API integrations within the financial or payments industry.
Technical Stack: Deep proficiency with modern open-source technologies and strong experience with languages such as Java.
Cloud & Architecture: Deep understanding of cloud platforms (specifically AWS or GCP) and proven experience with microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with a modern front-end framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
Prior experience working in a start-up environment.
Active contributor to open-source projects or communities.

Location & Work Schedule
Location: This role offers a hybrid work schedule and is preferred for candidates based in or willing to commute to our offices in Tempe, AZ, or DFW, TX.
