This is a great opportunity for a Senior Java Software Engineer to a travel experiences business. This already profitable business are now embarking on their next chapter and as they're now coming to the end of a digital transformation and are now building a range of completely new features, enhancing and improving their current product offering.

As the Senior Java Software Engineer you'll lead backend services and API integrations with a huge number of 3rd party's across their consumer facing web and mobile platforms. You'll join a 6 person team, being the go-to for these services and will contribute to the build of new features for their Web platforms and mobile applications.

Technologies:
• Java 17+ / Spring Boot / React / Typescript / Kotlin
• MySQL / Kafka / DocDB
• Cucumber / Selenium / Cypress / Pact / Gatling
• AWS / Kubernetes / Elastic stack / Prometheus / Grafana / Jaeger

Responsibilities as the Senior Java Software Engineer:
• Assume technical ownership of feature development end-to-end
• Advocate for best coding practices within the team
• Lead architecture decision making and technology decision making
• Design, build, review, test, and deploy services and code in live production environments
• Uphold development standards and prioritize best coding practices
• Tackle ambiguous and unexplored problem domains

Experience needed as the Senior Java Software Engineer:
• Backend development experience, working with production level Java based applications
• Strong system architecture and system design skills
• Commercial experience working with Kotlin for Android app development
• Familiarity with cloud services (preferably AWS)
• A passion for ensuring best practices and coding excellence are adhered to
• Experience leading feature development/ projects end-to-end
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
