About the Division
The Digital Solutions Division (DSD) designs, builds, maintains, and supports large-scale (enterprise) specialised software systems used by departmental staff and businesses to help unemployed people find employment and apprenticeships.
The Role
Reporting to the Lead Tester, the Senior Software Tester will work as part of a delivery team responsible for building enterprise class systems for the department.
In a predominantly Microsoft and Azure technology environment, you will prepare and review test plans, test cases, task cards for review by the Lead Tester and stakeholders. You will execute assigned test cases on the appropriate testing platforms in accordance with project test plans. You will record and report on test results and take agreed actions where testing identifies failures to meet the requirements. You will work closely with other testers, developers, solution analysts, and business analysts. You will review the work of tester in your team and provide day-to-day supervision and support for testers.
The successful applicant will receive the necessary training, mentoring, and guidance to perform the key responsibilities of the role and to advance their careers in the APS.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the APS6 may include
Work under limited supervision
Participate in agile ceremonies
Participate in design, planning, and estimation sessions
Work with a range of stakeholders to develop test plans and test cases of all complexities
Coordinate access to environments and data for testing
Execute test plans and test cases against the provided specifications
Collaborate with delivery team members to produce quality work
Work within the department’s delivery framework
Supervise and support less experienced testers

The conditions of working from home are compliant with the National Employment Standards and DEWR’s Enterprise Agreement.
