Qualifications
High School or GED
Minimum 3 Certifications (manufacturer /state) in fire protection related field
Minimum 2-4 years related experience
Mechanically inclined
Advance communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills
Specific -- RELEVENT experience
Experience in the Inspection, Testing, Maintenance and Repair of Safety Equipment
Ability to repair and service equipment sold by Vallen North America
Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record
Commercial Driver's License required if carrying loads of hazardous materials
Advanced Industry segment knowledge
Able to provide assistance, advice and training to Vallen associates and plant personnel
Maintain minimum productivity of +0% within 60 days
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a Customer Acct or Project
Able to complete repairs and maintenance of equipment in a timely and accurate manner
Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed
Keep all certifications and licenses current and renewed by completing continuing education as required
Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process and quality instructions)
Possibility of working in hazardous environments when working within a plant which would require safety precautions and appropriate equipment
Ability to work in climatic weather (cold/heat) during day or night operations
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
Occasional lifting of items weighting a maximum of 55 pounds
Ability to climb stairwells up to 15 levels high
Ability to ascend and descend ladders (step, extension, cage) up to 24' high
Able to walk at a normal pace for up to 15 continuous minutes
Able to work from a standing position for 8-10 hours
Bending, climbing, and stooping as needed for access of equipment to repair and service
Pass all test requirements to be approved to work offshore

Responsibilities
The primary purpose and objective for the IFR (Instrument Fire Respiratory) Tech III is to perform Inspections, Testing, Maintenance and Repairs (ITM) to Life Safety Equipment, for established customers, on a scheduled basis
Assist assigned HTS technicians with proper training in Vallen standard operating procedures
Providing customer service in the area of Inspecting, Testing, Maintenance and Repairs of Life Safety Equipment
Including, but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose, Gas Detection Monitors, Respiratory Equipment, Fall Protection Equipment and Safety Shower / Eyewash Units
May also have job coordination responsibilities in the absence of a Technician Lead if assigned by the supervisor/manager for specific jobs or customers
Knowledgeable of all regulatory standards pertaining to assigned duties, i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, NFPA Guidelines and Vallen SOP's
Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders & distributing to sales associates for processing

Position Summary
