KittySpout is looking for a Part-Time Website Developer to join our team! As our website development lead, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Shopify store website with a focus on user experience and conversion optimization. This role is structured for 20-25 hours per week.

KittySpout has helped over 220,000+ cat owners in just 3 years since launching with a small (but mighty) core team of under 10 people and we are looking to continue our growth by finding a great web developer to help play a pivotal role in helping us scale!

Key Objectives:
• Manage and maintain our Shopify store website to ensure optimal performance and user experience
• Execute website updates, improvements, and bug fixes promptly and efficiently
• Lead technical implementation of promotional campaigns and sales events
• Drive measurable improvements in website conversion rates and performance metrics
• Work with our marketing team to implement new features and optimize existing ones
• Use data analytics to make informed decisions about website improvements
• Ensure website security and maintain regular backups
• Optimize site speed and mobile responsiveness

Requirements:
• Fully remote
• Fluent in English
• Shopify Expertise: 2+ Years Experience with Shopify development and customization
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid templating language
• Tools & Metrics: Experience with version control systems, performance monitoring tools, and analytics platforms
• E-commerce Experience: Strong background in e-commerce optimization and conversion rate improvement
• Creative & Analytical Mindset: Ability to balance technical requirements with user experience and business needs
• Available during core business hours (to be defined) and occasionally for critical updates

Accountabilities:
• Maintain and optimize website performance during agreed working hours
• Implement 4-5 new features or improvements per month together with the marketing team
• Execute promotional campaign updates on schedule
• Analyze performance metrics for actionable insights for improvements
• Collaborate with marketing team to implement new features and campaigns
• Adapt website strategy based on user behavior data and emerging e-commerce trends
• Present performance analyses and technical recommendations to the team
• Continuously refine and troubleshoot website functionality to achieve maximum conversion rates
• Iterate on successful features to create more optimized experiences

How Our Hiring Works & How We Operate

When hiring, we'll work with you to define the KPIs you'll be responsible for and set targets. This removes ambiguity around wondering if you're doing a good job after you start.

Initial soft interview, then a technical interview + test project with the current head of marketing, and a final interview to ensure culture fit. We plan to hire within ~8 - 10 days of conducting these interviews. We pride ourselves on timely responses and updates for applicants.

Salary Expectation

USD $24,000 USD to $42,000 USD per year based on experience and expertise. This is a part-time position (around 25 hours per week).
