We are looking for a seasoned and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Manager to lead full-cycle accounting operations across seven in scope APAC countries—Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand— as well as oversee payroll, gratuity accounting, statutory audits for India and shared services for the Inscope APAC countries and India. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting, ensuring local tax compliance, managing annual audits, and aligning regional practices with global accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in regional finance, a deep understanding of local regulatory requirements, and the expertise to effectively manage multi-country accounting functions
• Provide leadership and oversight for payroll, accounting, and global expense auditing operations across India and the APAC in scope countries.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax regulations, and corporate financial policies while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate journal entry reviews, financial analysis, and internal reporting for senior management.
• Drive the statutory audit process for seven legal entities across APAC and India, serving as the primary liaison with auditors and external stakeholders.
• Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements, ensuring completeness of disclosures and adherence to reporting standards.
• Lead financial adjustments for group-reported data to comply with Indian GAAP requirements.
• Direct audit schedule preparation and manage General Ledger accuracy for comprehensive financial reporting.
• Provide insights for business control initiatives, supporting financial decision-making with accurate data analysis.
• Knowledge of tax filings, withholding tax compliance, and employment regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain knowledge of legal compliance across India and APAC countries in scope, advising management on regulatory changes.
• Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships, demonstrating a consultative approach to stakeholder engagement.
• Participate/ Lead special projects, including process automation, system implementation, and strategic financial initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Assess and refine accounting operations, implementing best practices to drive continuous improvements in processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, global expense payments, and leave accruals across India and APAC in-scope countries.
• Serve as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders, such as HR, and external entities, including but not limited to government agencies, tax authorities, and pension regulators, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for accounting and payroll teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
Who are you?
Qualification required for this role:
• Leadership Expertise: Proven ability to lead multi-country financial teams, drive efficiency, and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Extensive experience with IFRS, GAAP, tax regulations, and laws across India and inscope APAC countires
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage effectively with auditors, regulators, and senior leadership, balancing compliance with business needs.
• Process Optimization: Experience in leading system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Strong Communication & Collaboration: Able to break down financial complexities into practical insights for decision-making.
• 7-10+ years of experience in accounting of increasing responsibility, preferably a mix of both public accounting and corporate accounting roles within a publicly traded company
• 3+ years of building and managing teams in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Strong IFRS/GAAP and accounting process knowledge and experience understanding and synthesizing technical accounting standards
• Experience in similar business industries (e.g. SaaS, professional services, resellers)
• Experience in meeting short deadlines and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skill (e.g. VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables, CONCATENATE, LEFT/RIGHT/MID, Text to Columns, etc.) and strong account reconciliation skills
• Experience maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information
• Experience with PeopleSoft a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
• CPA license or equivalent preferred
