Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Sterile Processing Technicians to support the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. Coverage includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities

Must have practical knowledge of asepsis theory, principles, practice, and techniques to prevent infection spread.
Must understand microbiology principles as they apply to surgical supply operations, particularly regarding microorganisms' resistance to heat and chemicals used for sterilization and High-Level Disinfection (HLD).
Must have working knowledge of standard steam autoclaving procedures.
Must be familiar with chemical sterilization processes, such as Sterrad.
Interpretation and proper recording of all sterilization test results.
Must know standard procedures for HLD systems, including Medivator Advantage, Trophon, and manual HLD using Cidex OPA.
Must possess broad knowledge of surgical and clinical instrumentation, including ability to identify damaged or broken instruments and locate suitable replacements.
Must have thorough familiarity with hospital Operating Room procedures.
Must understand medical and surgical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology.
Must have thorough knowledge of aseptic principles and techniques, including characteristics of detergents and cleaning methods.
Must be able to properly handle, clean, and reprocess flexible endoscopes like colonoscopes and gastroscopes.
Must follow manufacturer instructions for handling, cleaning, and sterilizing or HLD processing various surgical and clinical Reusable Medical Equipment (RME).
Must perform all physical demands of the SPS department.
Must read, write, and understand English language.
Must work in loud environments with occasional extremely loud noises.
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for 8 hours during each duty day with normal rest and meal breaks.
Must work in hot and humid environments while wearing PPE.
Must perform repetitive work for extended periods.
Must be flexible and adapt to changing tasks.
Qualifications

Candidates must meet ONE OR MORE of the following requirements:

Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or higher by International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM/HSPA).
Graduation from nationally recognized CRCST training program with minimum 2 current years of documented work experience in field.
Graduation from nationally recognized Operating Room Technician training program with minimum 2 current years of documented work experience in Sterile Processing Service environment.
Graduation from US military training program for Surgical Technicians with minimum 2 current years of documented work experience in Sterile Processing Service environment.
VA Level 2 certification with minimum 2 years current work experience in SPS environment.
Non-Certified technicians with documented and verifiable SPS hands-on work experience for minimum 5 years.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Candidates must be able to:

Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during work shift.
Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
Lift up to 20 lbs.
Carry up to 40 lbs over a reasonable distance.
Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
