Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and forward-thinking communications professional who is ready to provide high-quality services in a newly created full-time permanent position.
This is a dynamic role where no two days will be the same. You will have the opportunity to shape, grow, and make the role your own while delivering meaningful work and making a difference in how critical and sensitive information is conveyed to the public.
Skills and Experience Required
Proven strategic communications experience working both internally and externally to a wide range of audiences.
Significant public sector writing experience, including writing responses to official correspondence requests.
Proven ability to build credibility and strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Experience delivering content for a range of communications channels, including websites, social media, and publications.
Proven ability to prioritise work, work under pressure, and to tight timeframes, and make timely decisions that stand up to scrutiny.
Understanding and knowledge of the processes of government.
Good working knowledge of the Official Information and Privacy Acts, and familiarity with the Treaty of Waitangi and its application to the work of government agencies.
Superior written and oral communication skills.
Experience working with the judiciary and a solid understanding of the separation of powers and how to work successfully in this space is preferable.

Salary Range
The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 to $154,680 based on skills and experience.
