About the role
The position, reporting to the Executive Director of Tourism Greater Geelong and the Bellarine, is responsible for developing and executing strategies that position Greater Geelong and The Bellarine as a premier tourism destination. The role involves managing and coordinating the business operations of Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine (TGGB), with a focus on strategic planning, board management, financial oversight, data analysis, industry development, and organisational operations.
In addition, the role requires providing high-level business advice to the Executive Director, Chairman, and Board of TGGB in areas such as planning, management, policy development, governance, and operational procedures. The position also serves as the Association Secretary for TGGB, offering essential organisational support and acting as a deputy to the Executive Director.

Classification: Band 8 $115,035 - $127,+11 pa plus superannuation.
Key Responsibilities Summary:
People & Organisational Leadership:
Lead strategic planning, financial management, and industry development for TGGB,
Motivating and guiding the team to achieve strategic goals.
Foster a culture aligned with organisational values, emphasing inclusivity, customer focus, and accountability.
Act as a deputy to the Executive Director, offering high-level support and advice.
Organising Resources & Planning:
Develop and implement the unit’s annual Business Plans, ensuring alignment with broader strategies and effective resource management.
Oversee performance tracking, process improvement, and adherence to governance and regulatory requirements.
Manage budgets, grants, and governance for TGGB, while supporting Board operations and project planning.
Specialist Work:
Champion a customer-first approach, providing expert advice and innovative solutions to stakeholders.
Drive industry development and destination leadership, leveraging tourism sector expertise.
Analyse visitor economy data to inform decision-making and monitor the implementation of Destination Master Planning
About you
Essential Experience:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as business or tourism, and/or extensive professional experience in business administration or tourism within a comparable organisation.
Strong skills in writing, presenting, and negotiating, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders and garner support for key objectives.
Advanced problem-solving abilities and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of fostering cooperation and building strategic partnerships.
Exceptional analytical capabilities for monitoring performance, identifying opportunities, and mitigating potential risks
