Position Description
We are looking for a Summer Student to join the Peri-Operative Services [POS] Executive Administration Team. Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Finance & Administration and working in collaboration with them, as well as the Team¿s Senior Managers of both Finance and Business Operations, Surgical Services, and the Project Manager, the POS Summer Student will use their critical thinking and strong analytical and communication skills to enhance the activities related to acquisition of strategic workforce knowledge, planning and Faculty Development and Affairs.
To prepare you for this role, you will attend Hospital orientation during onboarding, as well as receive an orientation specific to POS. We are excited to welcome the POS Summer Student to the Team and to provide the student with an opportunity for summer work that will allow them to further hone their critical thinking, analysis and communication skills.
Here's what you'll get to do:
Co-develop an e-filing structure that ensures comprehensive and accurate documentation throughout the physician/faculty career cycle.
Lead the implementation of said e-structure in One-drive and ensure successful migration from hard copy files with 100% accuracy.
Analyze and contribute to the identification of data points that characterize the physician/faculty workforce.
Co-develop insights and reporting tools that facilitate timely and comprehensive knowledge that contributes to anticipating gaps and needs for strategic workforce planning and detect important patterns to facilitate opportunities for improvement.
Choose and develop effective ways to visualize and communicate the data.
Contribute to either the creation of, or improvement in, documenting processes/procedures.
Contribute to the development and/or enhancement of various templates.
Here's what you'll need:
Current enrollment in a University or College program [arts or science], having completed at least Y3.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships and interact well with others.
Excellent critical thinking, analysis and writing skills.
Strong initiative to achieve high standards of service and performance.
Proficiency with computers is essential (i.e. MS- Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Interest and commitment to learning Canva for data visualization and impactful communications.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Demonstrated problem solving abilities.
Ability to be self-directed, flexible and to take initiative, maintaining pace.
Attention to detail and efficient time management are essential to the position.
Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times regarding the data/information you will acquire throughout the course of the job including not disclosing to any other person such information while in the position and thereafter.
