Our Early Years and Family Services Team is dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of children and families through inclusive, community-focused programs. We prioritise strong community connections, a sense of belonging and empowering families to thrive together.
About the Position
Using a strength based, customer focused approach, the role will be to engage and support the participation of families in playgroups.
Skills and Experience
Plan and facilitate supported playgroup sessions using flexible programming approaches that are responsive to individual family and child needs
To provide opportunities for families to develop parenting skills and confidence to support their child's learning and development
High level of understanding of the importance of play in the learning and development of young children
Respect and respond to families cultural values, needs and circumstances
Develop positive relationships with key local stakeholders and referral sources to develop referral pathways for vulnerable families
Understanding of the concepts of community development and community capacity building
Requirements
Hold or are working towards a minimum Diploma level in early childhood, social work or health field e.g Early Childhood; Social work; Social welfare; family support; community services, parent education; family support worker
Experience in the provision of services to children and families
Proven experience working with community organisations
Employee Working with Children’s Check
Satisfactory National Police Check
Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
