Are you an experienced professional with a passion for driving efficiency and making a tangible impact? We're looking for a Temporary Staffing Lead to oversee our organisation's neutral vendor contract, optimising spend and our overall approach to temporary staffing. This is a fantastic opportunity to significantly reduce our reliance on temporary workers and associated costs, all while ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations.

You'll play a crucial role in shaping our temporary staffing strategy, focusing on cost-effectiveness, compliance, and operational excellence. If you're ready to make a meaningful difference and leverage your expertise to drive significant change, we want to hear from you!

This role is a full time, 6 month fixed term contract and you will be hybrid working between home and the Civic Centre, Southampton.

What you'll be doing:

As our Temporary Staffing Lead, you'll be responsible for:

Financial Management: Delivering services within budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and innovation, and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Customer Relationships: Ensuring services meet agreed standards, acting on feedback to enhance satisfaction, and promoting effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Operational Effectiveness & Compliance: Operating within HR policies, driving continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and Information Governance, and effectively managing your workload and reporting. This also includes a commitment to safeguarding adults with care and support needs.
Organisational Capability: Actively participating in team and Council-wide initiatives, engaging in personal and professional development, and collaborating with multi-agency services.
What we're looking for:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Strong experience in temporary staffing, vendor management, or workforce planning.
Demonstrable knowledge of Agency Worker Regulations and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in cost reduction strategies within a temporary staffing environment.
The ability to analyse workforce data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Experience in developing policies and process improvements.
A strategic thinking and problem-solving mindset.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
An analytical mindset with keen attention to detail.
The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
A proactive and results-driven approach.
It would be advantageous if you also have:

Previous experience working withing a public sector or regulated setting
HR knowledge
Experience with workforce planning
Familiar with HR systems and reporting tools
