This person will be responsible for repairing die cast tooling in the tool room or die cast machines
They will perform preventative maintenance of the dies
They will be responsible for responding to work needed on the die cast hall to maximize production

Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and calculate product dimensions and tolerances
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities

Tooling Technician

Performance Expectations
• Operate various drills, mills, and lathes as needed.
• Assesses damage to the tooling and determines repairs needed.
• Ability to change die’s.
• Make repairs on die and tools per maintenance and quality.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble tooling.
• Ability to use overhead cranes.
• Ability to use drill press and surface grinder.
• Thread and Taper Shafts (Metric, Standard, Acme)
• Use of various other industry related tools and gauges
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and blueprint reading skills. Credentials
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired Characteristics
• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• CNC coding and machining a plus
• Welding experience a plus
• Safety – Identify and follow safety protocol per Tooling JHA standard.
• Knowledge of 5S a plus
• Punctuality
• Self-Motivated
• Positive communication skills required.
• Knowledge of hand and pneumatic tools a plus
• Knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
• Trouble shooting skills a plus.
• Strict attention to detail
• Blueprint reading a plus.
• Experience in die maintenance a plus
