Job description
The day in the life of a Trainee Technician is to develop your skillset in Electronics Diagnosis and Repair.

You will be coached and mentored by a team of experienced and dedicated technicians who are keen to impart their knowledge on the next generation of electronics talent.

This position is unique in that you can develop in electronics, building, testing and repairing the most complex and accurate electronics test/calibration equipment made by Fluke!

The position is a 3 year fixed term contract, to develop as a technician. If successful in the role and business conditions are right, Fluke will have a conversation with the candidate about further career opportunities.
• To take an active role in your own development into Electronics Engineering and knowledge of Fluke products to diagnose/repair instruments in the factory.
• To diagnose faults to a component/circuit level and suggest/rectify faults as appropriate.
• To analyse instrument test results to understand the status (Pass/Fail) of the instrument to pass onto the next process step or repair.
• To complete technically complex test procedures, per training from other technicians, to progress instruments through the process.

You will be in a team of Electronics Technicians with combined >80 years of experience in Electronics Engineering and Fluke Products.

The team have a long tenure at Fluke, with 2 of the team members being with the company for >25 years, showing an impressive dedication to their craft and building their experiences!

We are looking for candidates either early in career, such as college leavers or those who would like to take the plunge into learning about electronics engineering and pursuing this career path.

All you need is a willingness to learn and wanting to get hands on learning about and repairing instruments!

This role will involve a heavy investment in your development in Engineering, so this is an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in Electronics by working for a company at the forefront of precision test and measurement.

If successful in this fixed term training role, the ideal candidate will be perfectly placed to progress into a permanent Electronics Technician role, with a clear development path into Manufacturing Engineering, Research/Development or Metrology, giving excellent career prospects.
