We are excited to announce a permanent full-time position for an inspirational leader to join our Senior Leadership Team at Ngā Taiātea Wharekura, starting in early 2025.
We are seeking a teaching Co-Deputy Principal to lead our pastoral care initiatives within our kura, encompassing our school values, PB4L, restorative practices, discipline, and rewards.
The ideal candidate will possess skills that include, but are not limited to;
Te Ao Māori: A deep knowledge and passion for Te Reo Māori and its cultural aspects.
Empathy and Active Listening: Ability to understand and respond to students’ emotional needs.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
Conflict Resolution: Skills to mediate conflicts and foster positive relationships.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop appropriate strategies to support students.
Organisational Skills and Leadership: Capability to manage multiple responsibilities and coordinate and lead the implementation of pastoral care programs.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with colleagues, whānau, and the wider networks to support student well-being.
Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing situations.
Commitment to Student Welfare: A genuine passion for supporting students’ emotional and social development.
