The laboratory technicians is responsible for laboratory
- based tasks, which include sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing results in biological, chemical, physical and life sciences.
- Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory and maintain equipment in clean and properly functioning state.
- Accurately completes and maintain a variety of reports as required by local, state and federal regulations.
- Maintains a quality assurance program that meets the requirements of the hospital.
- The laboratory technician provides all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively whilst adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.
- The Laboratory Technician carries out fundamental tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
- Calibration & quality assurance.
- Record and report data from all analyses and tests in the prescribed time and form and maintain statistical records in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Prepare specimens and samples.
- Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Make detailed observations; analyze data and interpret results.
- Write reports, summaries and protocols regarding experiments.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
- Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipments, for example Auto Analyses (fully & semi) and other mechanisms.
- Keep up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
- Inform critical value within time period to other wards & to Lab in-charge
- To prepare the report within TAT.
- Self prophylaxis i.e. usage of glovesand masks while performing tests is mandatory.
- Performs any other duties as required or asked by the in-charges.
