Job Summary:
As a Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the logistics department within an organization. Your role involves managing a team of logistics personnel, ensuring efficient transportation, inventory management, and distribution of goods while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness. You will play a critical role in optimizing the supply chain and ensuring the timely delivery of products to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead a team of logistics staff, including warehouse workers, and administrative personnel.
Set performance goals, provide coaching, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient stock control.
Coordinate with procurement and production departments to maintain adequate inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
Transportation Coordination:
Plan and coordinate transportation routes for the efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
Warehouse Management:
Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and order fulfillment.
Implement and maintain best practices for warehouse organization and inventory accuracy.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
Quality Control:
Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet established standards.
Address any product or packaging issues promptly.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate reports on logistics performance
Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Promote a culture of safety among the logistics team.
Customer Service:
Collaborate with customer service teams to address customer inquiries and resolve delivery issues.
Strive to enhance customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries.
Cost Management:
Identify cost-saving opportunities in logistics operations and work to reduce expenses while maintaining service quality.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, with atleast 1 year in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
