Product Review Engineer - Liaison Engineering (Associate, Mid-Level, Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Liaison Engineering Organization is seeking Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Liaison Engineers to support the Portland, Oregon site. We are looking for a proactive individual who can make prompt engineering decisions and who want to go beyond their desk and into the factory for hands on engineering. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills as the candidate will be partnering closely with production personnel. The candidate will be the engineering representative on the factory floor transforming design into reality. Position Responsibilities: Applies basic knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles to develop interim or final engineering solutions to product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer. Analyzes, conducts failure analysis, root cause analysis and troubleshoots to understand root cause. Provides assistance to identify solutions. Provides written dispositions for routine design non-conformances. Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements. Develops routine customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Participates in Material Review Boards and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Ensures supplier and build partner comply with Boeing standards. Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment. Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards. Conducts simple static strength analysis to validate interim design repairs meet original design loads criteria. This position participates in the approximately +-month Boeing Company Training Rotation Program, which may involve assignments to the first, second, or third shift, as well as weekend or daily overtime. The specific requirements for shift assignments and overtime vary between sites and are typically covered on a rotation basis. Additionally, there may be travel involved during the training rotation. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's or Masters of Science Degree from an ABET OR ABET equivalent accredited course of study in Engineering 1 or more years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience in working with nonporous metals (Al, Ti, SS) and their forms (bar, forgings, casting). Experience in machining for complex geometry, recognizing load paths on thin walls, undercuts, mismatches. Experience with reading, interpreting, and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for machine parts Experience working with gear details and/or interaction between drive components. Experience with material processing for metals (e.g. heat treat, peening, plating). Experience in functional test and diagnostic of drive components (actuation systems). Experience with MRB repair of machined parts (bushings, blends, post processing). 3 or more years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering (Mid-Level). 5 or more years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering (Senior Level). 1 or more years of experience working with MRB (Material Review Board) activities related to aircraft systems or structures. Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes. We are looking for an Experimentation Lead to own and operate our advanced and proprietary experimentation engines, roadmaps, and methodologies. • You love statistics and data science and understand signal, noise, power, and alternative test designs to A/B/n when you are in non-ideal learning environments.
• You can say no, manage up, and communicate to focus your learning roadmap on what is best for our brands and company.
• You understand how to design experiments that test one data model or technology vs another.
• You can break down major initiatives and insights needs into smaller components and tasks.
