Senior Communications Adviser (Multiple roles)
Salary: $10+,730 - $132,764 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role
The Senior Communications Adviser delivers innovative communications and media services that raise the profile of our key initiatives, investments and programs, making sure our stakeholders receive the right messages, through the right channels, at the right time.
Tourism, Sport and Major Events – The role will help bring the government's investments in tourism projects, major events and sporting initiatives to life through storytelling in both traditional and online media. The successful applicant will enjoy a fast-paced environment; create diverse content that keeps people and local communities at the heart of stories; understand the state's metro and regional media landscape; and be adept at following and developing clear processes to support internal and external stakeholders in creating positive outcomes.
Economic Growth and Medical Research – The role involves working closely with policy teams to promote government investments across two high profile portfolios that play a major role in creating jobs and driving economic growth for the state. For the medical research portfolio, help us ***** a light on the government's investments in medical research and related industries that advance health outcomes and save lives. For the Economic Growth portfolio, support trade and investment opportunities that position Victoria as a key global exporter and investment destination.
Below are the main responsibilities of the role/s:
Develop and deliver high-quality, accurate communication materials to support best practice communications strategy, a pipeline of media and social media opportunities, reactive media and issues management, and ministerial media events.
Build effective working relationships and provide strategic and tactical communications advice to managers and executives in Strategic Communications, to portfolio executives and senior staff, and relevant ministerial offices.
Ensure alignment of portfolio communications, key messages and stakeholder engagement activities and work collaboratively to deliver innovative and creative cross-portfolio opportunities.
The Team
The position of Senior Communications Adviser forms a part of Strategic Communications branch. Strategic Communications is focused on building our department's reputation and delivering on the DJSIR purpose by raising the profile of our key initiatives, investments and programs.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality, innovative media and communication strategies and materials including complex briefs, media releases, speeches, forewords and social media content through a variety of channels, on time, and with high-level attention to detail in a complex, sensitive and dynamic environment.
Strong experience providing expert communication and media advice and support to stakeholders at all levels, including ministerial offices and executives.
Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to build effective working relationships, provide advice on processes and policies, and work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Translate complex research and investment concepts into high impact human stories for a general audience and do this in a fast-paced environment.
